Kenya Statutory Payroll Engine

JengaStack Kenya Statutory Payroll is a complete payroll and HR management module designed specifically for Kenyan tax, health, and pension compliance.

It operates seamlessly on both Odoo Community and Odoo Enterprise without requiring the Enterprise hr_payroll license.

Key Statutory Inclusions

  • Graduated PAYE Tax Brackets: Full implementation of current KRA income tax rates with personal relief calculation (Ksh 2,400 monthly).
  • SHIF Transition: Replaces legacy NHIF tables with the statutory 2.75% Social Health Insurance Fund calculation, including the Ksh 300 minimum contribution floor.
  • Affordable Housing Levy (AHL): Automatically computes 1.5% employee and 1.5% employer contributions alongside the 15% Affordable Housing Relief.
  • NSSF Tier I & Tier II: Calculates phased NSSF pension caps with statutory employer matching contributions.
  • NITA Training Levy: Assesses the mandatory Ksh 50 monthly employer training levy per employee.
  • Statutory Reporting: Produces annual P9A tax deduction cards and KRA iTax unified monthly CSV returns.
  • Disbursement Exports: Generates Safaricom M-Pesa B2C salary payment CSVs and bank transfer advice files.

Installation & Setup

  1. Ensure the hr and account core Odoo modules are installed.
  2. Install jengastack_payroll_ke.
  3. Default Kenyan statutory rates are seeded automatically upon installation into Payroll -> Configuration -> Statutory Rates.
